Takeuchi will produce skid steer loaders in the USA

Takeuchi has unveiled its plans following the takeover of Moore’s former Kobelco site in South Carolina. The Japanese will produce compact tracked loaders there to respond to global supply chain delays. Production is expected to start at the end of 2022.

Located in Moore, South Carolina, this is Takeuchi’s first North American manufacturing facility. The latter had taken over the facilities from Kobelco last March for 35 million dollars. And the site should quickly go live.

Indeed, if Takeuchi produced until now all its compact tracked loaders in the factory of its headquarters in Sakaki, Nagano, in Japan, the manufacturer has decided to delegate part of its production to the Moore site.

According to the Japanese manufacturer, producing machines in the United States would allow it to increase the number of its domestic suppliers and help alleviate supply chain problems caused by recent international events.
Takeuchi’s US factory consists of three buildings – a 14,500 square meter production plant, an office building and a demonstration center, all located on approximately 77 acres.

“Since the greatest demand for our compact track loaders is in the United States, manufacturing these machines in South Carolina will be faster and [permettra] more efficient delivery for our customers. We are very proud and excited to launch this new venture, and we know it will generate significant benefits for our business and, more importantly, for our customers. Bringing some of our manufacturing to the Southeastern United States demonstrates Takeuchi’s commitment to the North American market and this region we call home.”said Jeff Stewart, president of Takeuchi-US.
