A fine that makes you think twice
We don’t even count the uncollected dog droppings that degrade the streets and have become a real hell for passers-by. FYI, in France, owners who do not pick up their dogs’ excrement are fined 35 euros. However, this price is not necessarily fixed, the municipalities individually have the right to set their own price. This is the case of the town of Bergerac in the Dordogne. And one thing is certain, it is that the mayor of the city, Jonathan Prioleaud, has decided to strike hard. Last April, a fine of up to 750 euros was introduced for any dog owner who does not pick up his animal’s droppings in public spaces in the town of Bergerac. According to the veterinarian and LREM deputy for the Alpes-Maritimes, Loïc Dombreval, this decision is “the highest level of fine at the national level”. But be careful, you are not at the end of your surprises!
Even stricter measures
During their walks, owners will also have to bring two collection bags and in the event of non-compliance, they risk receiving a fine of 38 euros. Through this initiative, the municipality wishes to encourage better behavior and in view of the state of the streets, they are surely not wrong!
So, for or against this measure in Paris?
