No dog or cat reported on May 3 at the Lyon SPA, as they said, on their Facebook page, this Wednesday, May 4: the association’s services were called for an “unidentified animal in a garden” of a property, located on the outskirts of a town in Lyon. On site, the SPA’s investigation service discovered the presence of a small monkey related to a black-haired marmoset. The police, municipal and national, were contacted in the process to intervene. Indeed, the possession of primates by individuals is prohibited in France and constitutes an offence.
“The Brignais refuge not being suitable for the reception of wild animals, we naturally entrusted the animal to a specialized reception structure, where our inspector took it the same day”, indicates the association. . Contacted, the Lyon SPA does not wish to say more “so as not to disturb the ongoing investigation”.
