Elon Musk says he wants to lift Donald Trump’s Twitter ban

Businessman Elon Musk, who is to buy Twitter for $44 billion and presents himself as a staunch defender of freedom of expression, said on Tuesday that he intended to reverse the exclusion of former US President Donald Trump from the social network.

The decision to permanently suspend the account Twitter of the former tenant of the White House did not silence the latter and on the contrary made his opinion even more popular with the right-wing electorate in the United States, estimated Elon Musk.

Speaking at a conference organized by the Financial Times on the future of the automobile, the boss of the carmaker Tesla called the exclusion of Donald Trump a decision “morally bad and completely stupid”.

Twitter has excluded Donald Trump from the network following the assault on the Capitol, in Washington, led by supporters of the one who was still in office in the White House, citing in his decision the “risk of further incitement to violence”.
